Ancient traditions, a rich cultural heritage, a remarkable landscape are some of the characteristics of this outstanding property, once the farming residence of 17th century monks who belonged to the Convent of Sanfins de Friestas, that has been recently restored to provide its guests an unforgettable stay. Its extraordinary timeless character is the guarantee of an incomparable holiday.
The restored property is grand but homely, evidencing the talent of a top Portuguese designer, who has skillfully incorporated practical accessories of the most modern style with the traditional features that befit a house of this age.

The accommodation is light and spacious. Downstairs, the conveniently furnished living and dining areas with thick white walls and terracotta tiled floors covered with pretty rugs, is served by a very well equipped kitchen. Upstairs, five bedrooms comfortably furnished (one double and four twins), each with its own private bath or shower room make it the right choice for sharing families, or large groups, on holiday together.
Outside a charming patio and a beautiful stone path leads the way through wide lawns to the swimming pool, a true dash of paradise, flanked by granite-stone terraces, offering the chance to immerse in an open vista of lush wooded slopes and endless mountains. The property has preserved the old wheat threshing floor (eira) and the original granary (espigueiro).
Supplies can be bought in the small shop nearby, although a wider range of shops and restaurants may be found in the towns of Valença and Monção, which are just a short drive.
Alternatively, as this house is close to the Spanish border, the sandy beaches of the posh coastal resort of Baiona are only a few minutes drive and may be thus an attractive option for a day trip.
