Casa do Pinheiro Grande is a completely restored building where harmony reigns, it was remodeled for Rural Tourism and has several infrastructures made for leisure and comfort with easy access. A pool has been built near the bedrooms and it is next to a grass field surrounded by rosebushes. On the far end of the garden a small ring has been built for those that enjoy riding horses. On this more rural area and at a somewhat far distance from the housing a kennel has been built.
The farm’s old wine cellar has been highly altered to become a 180 m² room, where guests can lounge, make meetings and eat meals. On this room healthy and natural breakfasts are served every morning. A wide selection of homemade bread made by hand, maize bread, natural orange juice, coffee, milk, tea, hot chocolate, yogurt, cereals, ham, cheese, butter, jams, honey, and several other delicacies from the west region of Portugal.
On the house backyard there is a III A.C. Roman Domus called “roman villa of Columbeira”, which is currently been investigated.
With its privileged location this old farm is surrounded by the tall mountains of Serra do Picoto, where it has a marvelous panorama. Looking around one can see the small dirt paths between the ancient houses, Santa Ana’s Chapel, and Senhor Jesus da Boa Hora. You can even see Castro da Columbeira and the Várzea mountains, right in front of the house where the Battle of Roliça was fought to defend Portugal from the French invasions of 1808. You can even explore the many caves from Vale do Roto, escape to the lake of Óbidos or marvel at the fantastic Buddha Éden. Don’t forget to visit the Bom Sucesso golf court and the cities of Peniche, Nazaré and Bombarral.
