Casas de Romaria are a rural tourism project from the Village of Brotas, a typical village from Alentejo.
The village of Brotas is a typical village from Alentejo, it has a very well preserved architectonic legacy and many traditions connected to the local history and culture. Six houses have been recovered to welcome those that wish to discover a region rich with traditions. The houses have capacity for groups between 2 and 5 people, allowing for a stay with total independence. All houses have a small kitchen where meals can be prepared, the rooms with fireplace and the typical decoration from Alentejo are wonderful for a relaxed evening.
Each house has been named after the fellowship it used to belong, keeping its original looks.
The village of Brotas is a rural on with most of its activities being connected to agriculture. It has maintained all of its architectonical beauty with its fronts painted in white and its stone corners painted in white, blue or yelolow.
Brotas has five hundred years of history and a rich architectonic patrimony, from which Nossa Senhora de Brotas Sanctuary and the great Torre das Águias are obligatory stops for those that visit the Village. A calm place and away from the more busy tourism circuits, and specially by its unique character the village of Brotas is a true culture patrimony treasure.
