Pedralva Country Houses are unique project for the recovery of a village on rural Algarve.
The history and the stories on this village, from its ancient 200 inhabitants, in the last decade only 7 remained, and most of the houses were completely abandoned and deteriorated.
Aldeia da Pedralva was just ruined houses on a magnificent land that became what it is today thanks to António Ferreira when he discovered this hidden paradise and rewrote the history of Aldeia de Pedralva rebuilding it with love and dedication.
This is a passionate project shared by friends and families that follow closely all the renovation activities so they can be certain that they will result on a typical Portuguese type village, environment friendly and able to be used for sustainable tourism.
Nothing has been left to chance, the houses have been rebuilt using traditional materials and techniques, and when possible keeping the original shape of the house. All houses have been decorated with good taste and comfort in mind. They can have 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchenette and bathroom. Each house is an autonomous unit so it can make your stay as comfortable and as private as possible.
All the houses on Casas da Aldeia de Pedralva have white walls with colourful doors and windows, positioned on a hill, are distributed so they have the most light and harmony with the surrounding landscape as possible.
A restaurant with a bar/ common room complete the offer of Aldeia da Pedralva. On the village all are welcome to practice active tourism and also enjoy leisure times. Besides its beautiful beaches, surf and scuba diving, its location also allows for excellent walks through the surrounding area, be it on foot or by bicycle, don’t forget to enjoy nature on Parque Natural and Serra Algarvia.
On the village there is also a vegetable garden for those who wish for a more rural experience and want to discover the marvels of country life. Casas de Pedralva is ideal for families, young children, active seniors, and nature lovers. Choose one of the houses at Casas de Pedralva and join one of the many programs the village offers.
